AI 2041
I would call this book entry level. It’s a fine introduction for a beginner thinking about AI. I appreciated the diversity of topics, as well as the multicultural settings. But the stories themselves weren’t very gripping.
There were a few points I felt that I was being told instead of shown. Maybe it’s my own fault, but some of the characters were also just annoying. The stories were translated into English so that could be contributing to the experience.
Strangely the timeline also felt a bit conservative. I’m likely biased by my proximity to AI, the progression from GPT 3.5 to Sol Ultra has tangibly impacted by life. But 2030 feels a lifetime away, let alone 2041.
